This project was supposed to be pretty easy—just a quick update to Apple’s recruitment videos. But we quickly realized there was an opportunity here. Apple stores are really different from any other retail experience. Why not treat the shoot like a documentary and let the employees themselves tell us why that is?

What transpired was a round-the-world trip to discover the method behind the magic. In the end we created four US/global films and three for the Chinese market (editing in Chinese), and scoring unique music for each one. In the spirit of Apple, the project was challenging for sure. But impossible, no.

We’d be lying if we said this project didn’t have an impact on how we approach our own jobs, and people in general. Sometimes, to get to the good stuff, you just gotta open your ears and listen.
